Job Description

Primary duties will be to market, underwrite, and produce profitable Financial Institution Management and Professional Liability business consistent with the ORPRO team’s strategy and objectives. This senior position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing, collaborative team of underwriters responsibly building a Financial Institutions portfolio of accounts. The Underwriter will assess new and renewal, private and public, financial services companies. Assessment will include review of their business operations, financial health, unique risk exposures, and complex organization structures across various FI industry classes and geographies in the United States. This is a visible and important role externally, working with key distribution partners and internally, training, coaching, and mentoring less experienced staff. The Underwriter will be able to make an immediate impact with the backing of an experienced and supportive group.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5-15+ years’ experience in financial institutions underwriting is preferred.
• Technical skills and desire to analyze financial services companies’ business models, operations, financial statements, and industry trends.
• Develop relationships with our highly valued distribution partners in their assigned territory and throughout the country. Regional travel will be required.
• Individual must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating integrity and leadership in the marketplace.
• Manage multiple assignments with attention to detail and work under quick timelines.
• A sense of curiosity, commitment to excellence, and superior customer service, are essential.
• Strong analytical and technical skills are required, including understanding complex coverage terms unique to financial services companies.
• Market to a diverse retail and wholesale agency base and demonstrate professional verbal and written communication abilities.
• An ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions, and evaluate complex multi-line deal structures for both private and publicly traded Financial Institutions is essential.
