Job Overview 

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) Marketing is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of marketing initiatives and plans, in accordance with corporate goals and objectives. This role will lead the development of marketing programs that build brand awareness, attract new customers, and foster relationships with existing customer and key trade associations. These responsibilities will include directing the creative process and executing on all web, email, blog, video and print messaging designed to promote brand awareness and support sales growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises the work of the Marketing department, including the quality, quantity and timeliness of work produced.
  • Develops marketing plans and objectives consistent with sales and profitability goals for ORPRO.
  • Maintains current company and department procedures. Assigns work, provides training and feedback to team members, and conducts timely and appropriate evaluations of job performance in the department.
  • Reviews, develops and facilitates department budget planning based on corporate goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates with the Executive team, National Sales Director, and the Underwriting Leadership Group to identify and evaluate opportunities for growth and expansion into existing and new market areas through the collection and analysis of various business data and statistics.
  • Maintains ORPRO’s distribution database, coordinating contact detail between various platforms, including but not limited to Duck Creek, Salesforce and HubSpot.
  • Facilitates large scale communications directed to ORPRO’s broader distribution base.
  • Identifies and manages external marketing resources that assist in attaining organizational sales and profitability goals.
  • Handles the keeping, updating, organization, and timely distribution of all ORPRO print and digital marketing material.
  • Creates, reviews, and facilitates media plans, digital media options, and print media utilizing Old Republic International branding standards and marketing objectives.
  • Reviews, develops, and manages content of ORPRO’s public website and intranet.
  • Coordinates event support, including but not limited to idea generation, contract reviews, negotiation and execution, invitations management and associated promotional material delivery.
  • Leads the research, selection and procurement of ORPRO’s branded merchandise, apparel and inventory. Oversees non-branded gifts and holiday gifts for the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with company brand standards; acts as the authority and administrator of all internal documents and branded items.
  • Evaluates and manages sponsorship opportunities related to related trade and industry associations.
  • Supports HR’s internal marketing efforts around employee engagement and retention.
  • As a management representative, consistently acts in the best interest of ORPRO and provides leadership and communication to actively promote ORPRO's mission, values, and culture.
  • All other functions and duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 10 years prior experience in a marketing or ad agency role required, Experience in a marketing role at an insurance carrier is preferred.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written; ability to communicate and present information to various audiences in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Ability to present a positive and professional image on behalf of ORPRO.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office and other business communication systems.
  • Must be able to attend and perform job duties effectively both in-person and virtually, as required by the manager.
  • Some travel and overnight stays required. Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Occasionally lift and carry equipment and/or materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
